Technology & Engineering Education Association of Pennsylvania

The History of TEEAP

In 1952, the Industrial Arts Association of Pennsylvania (IAAP) was formed by  under the leadership of Phil Young (President), Bill Wilkinson (Vice-President), James E. Smith (Secretary), & Charles Williams (Treasurer). In 1986, the Industrial Arts Association of Pennsylvania changed its name to the Technology  Education Association of Pennsylvania. In June of 2010, the Technology Education Association of Pennsylvania once again changed its name to the Technology & Engineering Association of Pennsylvania, which continues to serve technology educators across the state. The history of TEEAP has been documented in two documents made available at the 2002 TEAP Conference. Although these documents can not be made available in their entirety here on our website, please view the TEEAP Visual History presentation which was created by Dr. Len Litowitz for 2002's 50th Annual Conference in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. While these historical materials may not contain the most recent name change, they do contain a vast amount of information regarding the associations history.
