Dear Technology Educators & TEAP Members,

Welcome to the November 2003 edition of the TEAP-Online Newsletter! This newsletter contains a little follow-up information from the 52nd Annual TEAP Conference, some important information regarding Technology Education's representation at PDE, and some great news about our relatively new Lesson Plan page at TEAP-Online! If you have any concerns, questions, or items to include in these monthly newsletters, please email teap-news@teap-online.org. Once again, I apologize if you receive this message twice as we are still in the process of working the bugs out on the emailing process!

2003 TEAP Conference Follow-Up

Thanks to all of you who attended this years TEAP Conference. The TEAP Conference is one of the best in the country, and we could not do it without all of you, and the great team that puts it together. If you would like to be a part of that team, please contact your Regional VP to find out how you can get more involved!

If you would like to read about what went on at the conference, or are looking for information on any of the vendors present in our Exhibit Hall, then visit the 2003 Conference Page at
http://www.teap-online.org/Conf-03/2003conf.html. You can also visit the TEAP Award Recipient page for details concerning those individuals who received recognition from their peers at this years Banquet.

Finally, Act 48 credits have not been uploaded in their entirety at this time, please be sure to watch the conference page for information . A notice will be posted once Act 48 credits are completed so that you can check to verify that you did in fact receive proper credit!

Technology Education Representation at PDE Now! And what you can do to help!

Currently, we are without a voice at the State level and that is very threatening to our existence.  TEAP urges you to send a letter requesting that the two vacant positions be filled as soon as possible. A letter was designed by TEAP Leadership as an example for our membership to use to contact their legislators and urge them to support Technology Education in the state by filling the vacant positions in the Pa. Department of Education.  You may use the entire letter if you wish, or when writing to the legislator from your region you may want to use specific examples of how your schools or locale has been affected by the lack of a State Advisor and Curriculum Specialist. Thank you in advance for your help. This is part of TEAP-Making Connections!  These are the type of connections we need to make and keep for Technology Education to continue to be a vital part of the general education of every child in Pennsylvania.

Thanks For the Lessons...Keep 'Em Coming!

Thank you to those of you who how provided us with Lessons Plans for posting in the last month. A special thanks is extended to all of the students from California University of Pennsylvania who sent a number of great Elementary Technology Education Lessons. Once again, to everyone out there, please consider sharing one of your lessons with other teachers by submitting them to
Lessons@teap-online.org.

We are now well on our way to compiling an extensive collection of lesson plans to help all of us enhancing our students learning experiences. Do not be concerned about the specific format of your lessons, any and all plans are welcome! Remember, our Lesson Plan page has recently been recognized by Innovation Curriculum Online Network, developed jointly by ITEA and the National Science Foundation which is cataloging lesson plans for Technology Educators, including those available at TEAP-Online.org. Please visit http://icontechlit.enc.org  for more information about the ICON Website. Your lessons will not only benefit those teachers in the state, but also throughout the world!
